Instalove: #fallingforfall

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." — L.M. Montgomery

It's no secret that winters mean fresh powder and summers are spent at the lake, but one of the more hidden secrets of the Sierra are the vibrant colors of fall. The changing colors of the aspen trees juxtaposed against the evergreens is something truly breathtaking.

Here's a collection of some of our favorite Instagram posts captured by locals and visitors alike.

We love the classic A-frame cabin that represents a vintage era in Truckee and Tahoe. Tucked among the lovely yellow leaves, it's a quiet escape to paradise.

Experiencing fall is made all the more memorable when you have your best friend as a sidekick and photo subject. Savannah and her pup look picture-perfect among the bright red and orange leaves.

Andy got the sidekick memo and brought along his four-legged friend to capture this abandoned cabin in the woods, framed by breathtaking yellow aspen leaves.

The only sidekick better than a pup is a mini-me. It's a good idea to stop and view the world through the wonderment of a child's eyes, and this captivated face shows just how beautiful life in the mountains can be.

What better way to bond with your bestie than to snuggle up and take in the sights together--and the foliage makes the perfect portrait backdrop. A hot coffee or cocoa is never a bad idea either.

Whether solo or with your sidekick,  the best way to experience everything fall that Tahoe has to offer is to get out there and hit the trail. We're so lucky that our backyard is full of natural beauty and adventure, and it's important to take the time to soak it in.
