One fine weekend

One Fine Weekend Tahoe U Blog

Earlier this month, Diablo Magazine described One Fine Weekend in Truckee”. Thankfully, every weekend here is as fine as can be, but they made sure to highlight some of our favorites in addition to giving our own shop a shoutout as a must-stop shop #humblebrag

They captured what we often describe as what makes Truckee so unique to the Tahoe area:
"A bit dusty around the edges, this pioneer town is worth getting to know for its eclectic mix of historic mainstays and cosmopolitan upstarts."
Come for the snow, stay for the dust! Just kidding... but as a historic building filled with modern fashion and home goods, we felt that was a perfect description!

We give our stamp of approval to their picks, with some bias applied. We especially enjoyed seeing Pacific Crest Coffee. Their location is close to our warehouse and they keep us caffeinated when we receive new shipments of goodies. The Cedar House Sport Hotel is an ideal location to stay at, as it's just up the street from us and the rest of Downtown Truckee and close to FiftyFifty Brewing and other fun eateries at The Rock. We love a good cocktail and Truckee Tavern has some of the best in town.

Our friends and partners at Mountain Lion Aviation also got some love as the go-to way to fly into town to avoid the drive over the hill. Plus, you can't beat the views from the sky. With charter flights leaving out of Oakland and Concord you can be on your way to the slopes in 45 minutes.

We thought we'd elaborate on Diablo's picks and give you a few of our favorite weekend spots. Just a quick drive out of downtown Truckee will take you to Glenshire Pizza Company. Perfect for families and delicious to boot, it's our local spot to unwind with our kids at the end of the week. Plus the views of Glenshire Pond and Mt. Rose are breathtaking. Our newest neighbor on West River Street and a great way to start a morning of shopping before your adventure is the Cornerstone Bakery. A sure-bet for the kids and entertaining visitors is always ice skating at Northstar Village

Thank you again to Katherine Ann Rowlands and Diablo Magazine for putting the spotlight on us and our fellow Truckee businesses. We're so fortunate to be a part of this oasis in the mountains every day of the week!
