People let us tell you 'bout our best friends!

Precious Pups National Puppy Day #tahoeucrew Tahoe University dogs

Today is National Puppy Day, a very important holiday. We want to take this time to honor some very important members of our #tahoeucrew: the four-legged division. Tasked with keeping moral high, monitoring all snack-based activity, and endless support through the trials of running a business, these trusty sidekicks never let us down.

Our cover model, Mister Willie Steve Nelson, can be found by the side of our dearest Larissa. He is always well coifed, giving us all kinds of #hairgoals. Plus, like his namesake he has an iconic personal style

Erin Wilkinson, owner of Tahoe University dog leo

Some of them aren't *technically* puppies anymore, but they will always be puppies in our hearts. Leo is our wise elder, belonging to our owner Erin. He is a gentle giant, who spends his days lounging. Not a bad gig if you ask us...

Leo's protege and youngest member of the pup squad is Rocko. Co-owner Marne is mom to 4 kids, which meant she was outnumbered when all they wanted this Christmas was a puppy. With a face like that though, the decision was easy. Having a dog is an integral part of a mountain childhood, as they become your best friend and adventure partner to explore this big backyard.

Double the trouble, double the fun right? These two pigs in a pod keep each other and #tahoeucrew team member Jennifer Schuchert's hands full. But more pups equal more love so it's worth the extra effort.

And in case you didn't know, our store is always dog-friendly if not dogs-strongly-encouraged. We love getting visits from our puppy friends, and even carry a few Tahoe University items just for them. If you're lucky, Larissa may even dogsit for you while you shop. Dogs are a huge part of the community culture, so we hope you consider helping those who are in need of a little extra love. The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is always looking for help with donations, fostering, adoptions, and more.

Make sure to follow us on social and show us your pups. We love to re-share our furry friends showing off all that life in the mountains has to offer.
