The Squaw Valley village will be decked out in traditional decor and festivities, but the first thing we'll be beelining it to is the food and beer station. There will be several varieties of German beers, bratwursts, pretzels and new swiss cheese bread. We're getting hungry already.

Joe Smiell and his 20 piece band will be on hand to fill the valley with the sounds of traditional Bavarian music, our California valley not unlike the alpines of eastern Europe. Joe and his band started 65 years ago and have kept tradition alive and well, coming to Tahoe each year.

In addition, take in the entertainment of the Almenrausch Schuhplattler Dance Troops performances. The lively style of folk dance encourages the audience to into a dancing mood in the plaza.

We love a good excuse to drink beer, but we love a good cause even more. The event is a fundraiser for the High Sierra Lacrosse Foundation. The group is a non-profit that develops the sport of lacrosse for all student-athletes in Northern Nevada, Truckee, and the Tahoe Basin.

Make sure to stop by for a little shopping on your way up to the village. We hope to see you out there! Bucky is even hoping to get released from his security duties to enjoy in the festivities...
