As we gear up for winter weekends, prepare our altars to the snow gods, and stock-up on layers we thought we'd take a moment to give a shout out to our friends at Stomp Sessions. They were recently featured in Outside Magazine's "The Go List" and needless to say, we are stoked.
This isn't the first time Stomp Sessions has been recognized for their awesome platform, they were also featured earlier this year in The New York Times, a small newspaper you may have heard of. So what/who is Stomp Sessions? Co-founded by local XGames Medalist, Ryan Williams, Robert Suarez, a design veteran of IDEO, and tech guru Dave Sick, they've brought together technology and action sports to create the ultimate experience for adrenaline enthusiasts.
Utilizing an app-based interface to connect learners at all stages to local experts, pros, kids camps, after school programs and classes, plus a content engine of tips and tricks, they hope to "create lifetime users in outdoor sports."
With help from local Olympians Julia Mancuso, Jeremy Jones, and Jamie Anderson, a world-class lesson is just a tap and a swipe away. Fans of the mountain are now able to see it from the perspective of their own heroes.
And the caliber of expertise that Stomp Sessions has pulled in is available year-round and beginning to span well beyond our home base. With pros in the warmer side of extreme sports Chris Cole, Ryan Sheckler and Cam Zink teaching sessions and camps you can conquer the slopes and the skate park.
It's easy to get starry-eyed at the marquee of support they've received but as friends, we're just proud to see fellow local entrepreneurs create something special here. As parents, we especially appreciate what they are doing for the next generation of athletes. We'll continue to be rooting from the stands and have a feeling things are just getting started for Stomp Sessions.
Now, all this talk of extreme sports has us counting down the days until the snow arrives. Get your little ones ready for the slopes now with one of our Tahoe U Originals under their gear.
Make sure to check out our friends at Stomp Sessions and download the app to learn all the tricks and tips you'll need to ride this season. In the meantime, outfit yourself with some Tahoe U Originals so you're ready to shred in style.
